about
Like all classic children's songs,”Why Can’t Every Day Be Halloween” by Triple Rainbow holds appeal for grownups and kids alike, with an uptempo rock beat and lyrics for anyone of any age who thinks that regular clothes are just ... boring.
Andy Ferguson, aka Red Yarn, calls this song a “family pop-punk at its best and catchiest! Jared and July's heartfelt dad-and-daughter vocals beautifully convey the everyday childhood joy of dressing up in costumes. I never thought I would hear the words ‘American Veterans Thrift Store’ sung with so much sweetness and emotion.”
Triple Rainbow is led by Jared Mees, the legendary co-founder of the independent record label and local handmade-focused retailer Tender Loving Empire. As a father of two young daughters, Jared Mees finds inspiration from everyday family life and the wildness of kids' imaginations.
To quell the malaise and boredom of the pandemic, Jared, July (9) and Piper (4) created a creativity explosion, writing and recording 15 songs, making more than 25 short films, building massive box forts and building extensive miniature dioramas and accompanying stop motion videos -- all of which will be forthcoming in the next few months via Triple Rainbow social media accounts. “Making, singing, crafting and playing has really kept us positive during the pandemic. Creativity has always brought us together as a family. It's fun to be able to share what we’ve made with others,” Mees says.
lyrics
Everyone knows that you dress up on Halloween, but what about the 364 days between?
Why do we have to dress so boring when we could look amazing?
Course there’s the clothes that you wear to school and the store but after a while they’re a bore!
I want more!
I wanna be a rockstar!
I wanna be a mermaid!
I wanna be a unicorn!
I want more!
I wanna knock em out at the grocery store!
I wanna look amazing!
Why can’t every day be Halloween!
There’s a place called the American Veterans Thrift Store.
You shoulda seen the look on my face when I walked through the door
Miles and miles of colorful costumes all waiting for me.
Cost just a dollar sixty three.
I picked four, that I can use to be a witch or centaur.
Regular clothes make me snore
I want more!
I wanna be a princess!
I wanna be a doctor!
I wanna be a dinosaur!
I want more!
I wanna knock em out at the grocery store!
I wanna look amazing!
Why can’t every day be Halloween!
Because when I dress up, when I put on that make-up.
I feel like a billion bucks.
And I know I look amazing!
And I am hereby declaring the 364 days between….
Every day is now Halloween!

Rainbow's music explores both the layered world of a child’s heart and imagination, combining clever rhyming lyrics, storytelling and lots of descriptive concrete imagery. Sonically, Triple Rainbow keeps one foot planted in acoustic folk and the other in driving pop-rock. <3...more
