I’m making slime out of borax and glitter and glue
And if i do it right it wont even hardly stick to you
But i guess i only shoulda put in one drop but instead I put 22
Now its in my hair and every where oh what should I do?
Then I heard my momma mutter and she grabbed the peanut butter
Now for some reason we’re using it as shampoo
But I don’t mind, cuz I still love my…
Slime, cuz its awesome and I can make it and it hardly costs a dime
You can touch it but you cant keep it cuz this particular glob is mine

Slime makes me feel warm inside and weirdly satisfied
I like to squeeze it and hold it and fold it and bounce it and twist it and try my best to not drop it
My favorite toy makes hilarious noise and when I squeeze it I feel good inside
Thats why I’m gonna spend my time making
Slime, cuz its awesome and I can make it and it hardly costs a dime
But don’t eat it or get it on your carseat. You gotta treat your slime right.

The Lake

Well our whole family piled in our SUV and we drove 2 hours into the country
Down a bumpy dirt road, through beautiful trees, we put our hands out the window and we rode the breeze
And we played lots of games, we made up rhymes, listened to Baby Shark like 37 times
And just when that car ride was more than we could take we arrived at a big blue crystal clear MAGICAL LAKE
The Lake, lake the lake the lake the lake the lake, the lake YEAH!
It was a beautiful time, it was a beautiful place, maybe the best one we ever had!
Well we found our little cabin, we made a little fire we cooked a little food, we felt a little tired
It got really dark, the stars were really shiny, we looked up in the sky and we felt really tiny
Then the kids got whiny, (wah) we all went to bed,
barely been asleep an hour when July woke up and said “I’m so itchy, so itchy, its more than I can take”
And I said “I know its because you don’t take a bath when I tell you, so just go to sleep and when you wake up, you can take a bath in…”
The Lake, lake the lake the lake the lake the lake, the lake YEAH!
It was a beautiful time, it was a beautiful place, maybe the best one we ever had!
Well the next morning, we awoke to a knock. The sun was barely up it was barely 6 o clock
And guess who it was when we opened the door, it was a smelly hiker who was like:
“Hey is this the store?” and we said “no man geez, for goodness sake, this is a cabin, the store’s down there by the lake”

It was a beautiful time, it was a beautiful place, maybe the best one we ever had!
Well July was still itchy,
“I needed a scrub”
And that lake looked like a big beautiful tub.
We went down to the water and tiptoed in
Then I snuck up behind her with an evil grin
Then i pushed her in, she said
“BIG MISTAKE, NOW EVERYBODY’S GOTTA GET INTO THAT LAKE”
“I’m gonna push my own momma into that lake
I’m gonna push my own dadda into that lake
I’m gonna push my little sister into that lake
I’m gonna push that smelly hiker into that lake
That lake! That lake! That lake! THAT LAKE!
We took a little hike up a beautiful hill, sat on a blanket and got really still.
Cuddled together to stay warm, talked about how the lake was formed
And we were filled with love in that lovely place, maybe the best time we ever had…
There at the lake.

So I took a couple minutes to compose a little list
Of some simple things that are simply impossible to change
No matter what we think, no matter what they say
Its a fact you have a heart and its pumping your blood through
The one hundred thousand miles of blood veins inside of you
Its a fact that we live on a planet circling the sun
Its a fact that there is beauty inside of everyone
And if you go back to a long long long long long time ago
Its a fact that you’re related to each person on the globe
And though the way you talk may sound very strange to me
We are brothers we are sisters we’re a great big family

I don’t know very much about the whys or whats or hows

Why do we have to dress so boring when we could look amazing?
Course there’s the clothes that you wear to school and the store but after a while they’re a bore!

There’s a place called the American Veterans Thrift Store.
You shoulda seen the look on my face when I walked through the door
Miles and miles of colorful costumes all waiting for me.
Cost just a dollar sixty three.
I picked four, that I can use to be a witch or centaur.
Regular clothes make me snore
I want more!
I wanna be a princess!
I wanna be a doctor!
I wanna be a dinosaur!
I want more!
I wanna knock em out at the grocery store!
I wanna look amazing!

And its all the fun a couple kids could ever want
There’s 27 of em hidden down there
See if you can figure out where
They’re all pretty hard to find except the elephant

There’s a big ol’ couch with a retractable lid
Thats where the lion and both of the hedgehogs are hid
There’s Totoro and a couple of more of those one eyed guys from the second hand store

How do you make stuffy scavenger hunt?
Well its easy- you just ask a parent.
What if a parent ain’t around?
Just ask a kid, to hide all the stuffys till the stuffys are hid
While the rest of them kids count a hundred and ten
Thats when the stuffy hunt starts to begin
Look back to bottom, side to side and top to front
Its an unpredictable, absolutely beautiful, totally amazing crazy stuffy scavenger hunt!

Teddy Bear hidden under the chair
We found TWO
Flying pigs over by the stairs
We found THREE
Puppy dogs hidden under the rug
We found FOUR
Little funny miscellaneous bugs
We found FIVE
Yellow minions with five beady eyes
We found SIX
Bunny rabbits of various size
We found SEVEN
Stuffed monkeys -- You’re almost finished
BUT OH WAIT!
There’s still three left and I forgot where I hid ‘em.

We were walking one day by the ocean
The waves were crashing there on the shore
Exploring the caves and the rocks and the pools
When we came upon a moss covered door
One of us knocked and after a short wait
It opened and we looked inside
A mermaid emerged with a shimmery tail
Said “Come on in the water feels fine”
And it’s so awesome living under the water
It’s so awesome living under the sea
It feels so good to swim around in the ocean
So come on jump in the water with me.
She told us her name was “eee-eee-ahh-ahh-o”
She was seven years going on eight
We had our swimsuits under our clothes
She was very interested in our feet and she said
“You can breathe for an hour if you’re holding my hand”
We took a big ol’ breath and we dove right in
We saw whales and turtles and rode on dolphins
She was right the water felt great.
And it’s so awesome living under the water
It’s so awesome living under the sea
It feels so good to swim around in the ocean
So come on jump in the water with me.
Then suddenly there was no sea life
Just jellyfish and a bunch of trash.
Bottles and cans and billions of straws
It was so gross it made us gag
Eee-eee sighed and shed a mermaid tear,
She said “Theres a good reason that I brought you here
I wanted to show you what happens to the bottles
That you don’t recycle and throw in the water”
And as we said goodbye, we solemnly swore to remember her forevermore!
